Meet Karen Sticka
Karen Sticka is an NCCPA board-certified and state-licensed physician assistant, born and raised in New York. Our plastic surgeon in Fort Worth, TX, has welcomed her into his practice due to her exceptional skills and credentials. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Canisius College in Buffalo in 1997 and completed the Physician Assistant Studies program at LeMoyne College in Syracuse in 1999. She moved to Texas shortly after and has never looked back.

How Do They Work?
BOTOX and Dysport contain botulinum toxin type A. This safely refined neurotoxin stops muscle contractions around the injection site. The lack of muscle contractions reduces the appearance of dynamic wrinkles, such as frown lines, lip lines, and crow's feet.
How Long Do Results Last?
Patients begin to notice results in the treatment area within 24 to 48 hours, peaking at two weeks. Results last up to four months for moderate-to-severe frown lines, with varying times for other wrinkles.
Are There Any Side Effects?
The most common side effect is bruising and slight discomfort. Temporary brow and eyelid drooping may occur occasionally. Infections, pain, swelling, visual changes, and headaches have been reported, but are rare.

How Does KYBELLA Work?
KYBELLA is a synthetic deoxycholic acid that helps the body break down and absorb fat at the injection site. While the injectable solution eliminates unwanted fat, it is not a treatment for obesity or weight loss. Like liposuction, the results are permanent. Once the fat cells are eliminated, they do not return.
When Should I Receive CoolSculpting Instead?
CoolSculpting® uses applicators to freeze away fat cells, and is better suited to treat larger areas. It’s a less targeted treatment than KYBELLA and cannot be used to eliminate fat in the jowls.
Are There Side Effects?
Common side effects include temporary swelling, pain, numbness, redness, and bruising. These side effects typically resolve after a few days to a few weeks.
