BOTOX® Cosmetic Fort Worth
To help patients overcome the signs of aging, we offer injectables such as dermal fillers and BOTOX® Cosmetic at our practice serving Keller, Fort Worth and Southlake, Texas.
Facial Aging
Often it is the earliest signs of aging which are most distressing. Subtle frown lines on the cheeks, forehead, and around the mouth begin to deepen with age, and this is coupled with the effects of sun and gravity. Many people are looking to improve their look without expensive and invasive surgery. Today there are a whole host of minimally invasive products designed to help reverse and correct the signs of early aging. In our Keller, Fort Worth, and Southlake practices, we use BOTOX® Cosmetic (Allergan) Botulinum Toxin A.
BOTOX® Cosmetic is used to address age-related frown lines on the forehead. BOTOX® injections works by selectively weakening muscles of facial animation responsible for these unsightly lines. In our practice, BOTOX® Cosmetic is injected after the face is first prepped with a topical numbing medicine. This is followed by a series of injections with a tiny needle to sculpt the final result. The effects of BOTOX® Cosmetic may take up to a week to take effect and the results last from 3-4 months depending on the individual. Patients are thrilled as lines disappear and often the brows gently elevate.
Dermal fillers represent another exciting anti-aging strategy available today. Dermal fillers are designed to replace the volume lost in depressed areas of the face, such as the smile lines, marionette lines, old scars, and the tear trough, and rejuvenate your appearance. Dermal fillers are made of many different materials which affect the longevity of results. The most common temporary fillers used today are collagen- or hyaluronic acid- (HA) based products. Human-derived collagen is excellent for the lips and last approximately three months. Commercially available HA products used by the practice include Juvéderm® (Allergan) and Restylane® (Medicis Aesthetics). Both HA products are biologically engineered analogs of a naturally occurring HA found in our skin and thus are excellent for replacing volume. The results may last for a year depending on the individual, though most patients desire or will require re-injection every six months to maintain the result.
Regardless of the filler you choose, or whether you choose BOTOX® Cosmetic, it is important that you are comfortable with risks of the procedure. At Tarrant Plastic Surgery, Dr. Rumalla performs all injections himself and thus you will have the opportunity to discuss this with him ahead of time, as well as any other plastic surgery concerns you may have.
