One of Our 330+ 5-Star Reviews:
“I had a tummy tuck and breast lift. Dr Rumalla did a fantastic job and I am very pleased with the results. He is very concerned about his patient's welfare and returned to the hospital after office hours to check on me during my overnight stay. He and his staff followed my recovery very closely; starting with twice a week and then less often as I healed. I have recommended his services to others who have noticed my great transformation.” — Lucky H.
The Cost of a Tummy Tuck Prices for Abdominoplasty in Dallas–Fort Worth
The cost of abdominoplasty with full muscle repair starts at around $9,000. This price includes surgeon’s fees, anesthesia fees, and facility fees.
Factors That Could Increase Surgical Costs
The total cost of surgery increases if it incorporates procedures like liposuction. Similarly, complex surgeries that require more time in the operating room will also increase the cost.
Insurance and Financing
Because abdominoplasty is a cosmetic procedure, it cannot be billed to insurance. However, we work with third-party lenders like CareCredit® and Alphaeon® Credit to make the procedure affordable.
What Is Tummy Tuck Surgery?
A tummy tuck (also known as abdominoplasty) is a body contouring surgery that targets loose skin and excess fat around the lower abdomen, the love handles, and other problem areas around the waistline. It is often performed to improve overall body contours after a person has lost significant weight.
A Guide to Abdominoplasty Watch Dr. Rumalla Discuss the Tummy Tuck Procedure
What Abdominoplasty Can Do for You
Remove Excess Abdominal Skin
A tummy tuck directly addresses excess skin around the midsection that occurs after pregnancy or significant weight loss. If your problems are limited to the area below your belly button, then you may be a good candidate for a mini tummy tuck.
Tighten Up Your Stomach Muscles
A typical tummy tuck also surgically tightens the abdominal muscles, which can become torn and weakened after pregnancy. Dr. Rumalla's surgical correction will tighten your abs and leave you with a slimmer and more athletic-looking midsection.
Restore Your Body's Silhouette
While this body contouring procedure is not a weight-loss treatment, patients in Fort Worth have successfully coupled a tummy tuck with diet and exercise to shed excess fat and reshape their body for a more athletic and toned physique.

Take the First Step to a Slimmer Figure
By working with a double board-certified plastic surgeon like Vishnu Rumalla, you can expect predictable and safe results from your tummy tuck and other surgical procedures.
If you live in or near Southlake, Keller, or Fort Worth and are seeking a tummy tuck, Tarrant Plastic Surgery always welcomes new patients.
Who Is a Good Candidate
for Abdominoplasty?
Qualifying for Tummy Tuck Surgery
A tummy tuck can deliver dramatic results because it addresses sagging skin, excess fat, and separated abdominal muscles in just one procedure. You may be a good candidate for abdominoplasty if:
You Are in Good Health
You should be in good overall health and free of conditions that could complicate surgery and recovery. This includes a commitment to avoid smoking or chewing tobacco.
You Are Unhappy About Excess Skin
People suited to this body contouring procedure have loose skin on the abdomen that does not respond to diet and exercise. In addition, patients may have cosmetic concerns, like stretch marks, that cannot be addressed with alternative treatments.
You Are Committed to a Healthy Lifestyle
People who undergo the tummy tuck procedure at our Fort Worth practice should be committed to maintaining a healthy and stable weight through regular exercise and a healthy diet.
You Have a Stable Weight
Good candidates do not plan to lose weight in the future and do not plan on having more children. Both of these could undo the results that were achieved with a tummy tuck.
You Have Realistic Expectations
A tummy tuck can achieve a dramatic transformation. However, it cannot solve all cosmetic concerns. For people seeking optimal results, other procedures can be performed to enhance results, such as a comprehensive mommy makeover. Talk to your surgeon to ensure you have realistic expectations.
What to Expect During Your Abdominoplasty Consultation

An Abdominoplasty Procedure Overview A Step-by-Step Look at the Surgery
Abdominoplasty procedures take about two hours to complete and will be performed at our fully accredited surgical center or a hospital. During the procedure, Dr. Rumalla removes excess skin and tissue near the midsection and tightens loose abdominal muscles; the surgery can target the upper or lower abdominal regions, or both. Abdominoplasty may or may not include liposuction, depending on your goals.

Abdominoplasty Recovery & Aftercare What to Expect After the Surgical Procedure
We will provide detailed instructions to follow after your surgery, but here are some general tips:
Immediately After the Abdominoplasty Surgery
Following your surgery, you will have bandages and a compression garment placed over your lower abdomen. Some patients may have one or more small drainage tubes placed. Pain after surgery is minimal because we utilize pain pumps, nerve blocks, ice, anti-inflammatory medication, prescription medication, and muscle relaxers. Your recovery guidelines will include details about how to care for your surgical site, when to take medications, and other details related to your general health and healing.
In the Days Following Your Abdominoplasty Procedure
We understand the desire to resume normal activities, but the best cosmetic results are achieved when patients rest and refrain from exerting themselves until Dr. Rumalla gives his approval. Individual patients will experience different recovery lengths. In general, patients should rest for a few days following surgery. Patients should sleep and rest in a chair or recliner for several days to a week. They may then resume sleeping in a bed with their head elevated for an additional two to three weeks.
In the Weeks Following Your Abdominoplasty
A special abdominal garment may need to be worn for about six weeks. Many of our tummy tuck patients are driving and can be back at a desk job in one week. Patients can often walk around the neighborhood and resume sexual activity in three weeks, pending Dr. Rumalla's clearance. Patients are back in the swimming pool and resuming weight training in six weeks.
Dr. Rumalla will follow your recovery closely and always be available to answer any questions you have.
Reducing the Risks of Tummy Tuck
While the majority of traditional and mini tummy tuck surgeries go smoothly, any major surgery involves a certain amount of risk. However, you can lower your risks by following these simple steps:
Work With a Board-Certified Surgeon
Dr. Rumalla is certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgeons and the American Board of Surgery. Both of these boards are recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties, which oversees 24 boards recognized for upholding the highest standards related to the education, training, and review of its members. Patients should be careful to explore which boards individual plastic surgeons belong to. Not every “board” is recognized by the ABMS.
Use Practices Offering CosmetAssure Insurance
For added peace of mind and at no extra charge to cosmetic surgery patients, our Fort Worth practice partners with a program called CosmetAssure®, which is designed to cover the cost of treating a complication, should it arise, that might not be covered by your health insurance.
Understand the Risks
The possible risks associated with this procedure include anesthesia complications, infection, fluid accumulation, poor healing, and unfavorable scarring. Even when working with an esteemed surgeon, patients should take time to think carefully about potential risks and complications that can result from elective surgeries before making the important decision to proceed.

"I have never had such personalized care provided by a physician and his staff. During my overnight hospital stay, Dr. Rumalla visited me three times postoperatively. He personally assisted me out of bed and walked me in the room and hallway each time. He is very compassionate about his work and super involved in the postoperative process. The office staff is the best I have ever dealt with. They are knowledgeable and responsive. Overall, this was a great experience and I am thrilled with the results." — Margaret Davis

FAQ About Tummy Tucks in Fort Worth, TX
Is abdominoplasty dangerous?
For carefully screened patients in good health, abdominoplasty is a safe procedure. The risks of the procedure include bleeding, infection, seroma, scar, and on rare occasions, lung problems. At Tarrant Plastic Surgery, we work to minimize these risks by performing a preliminary health assessment and using antimicrobial strategies, blood thinners, and scar management as indicated. The best way to minimize risks is through close and frequent post-operative assessment and supportive care, which Dr. Rumalla often performs himself.
How obvious will my scar be?
Your scar will naturally fade over the course of several months, though it will not fully disappear. However, Dr. Rumalla makes the incision low in the bikini line so that any remaining scarring is easily hidden. Our team offers supervised scar management to ensure you achieve the most discreet scarring possible.
How long does swelling last?
Initially, your results may be obscured by the normal swelling associated with surgery. After around one to two weeks, you will be able to see the initial effects of your procedure. However, the full results may not be apparent for several weeks or even months following surgery. As your body heals, you will begin noticing that your profile appears slimmer and more youthful. This can be a very exciting period for our patients.
How do I maintain my new look?
Patients have an important role to play in maintaining their slimmer profile. Proper diet and exercise are two obvious ways that patients can ensure they avoid weight gain and retain the stunning cosmetic results of their procedure. Dr. Rumalla will provide further advice and tips on how to maintain your new physique.
How do I get rid of seroma after a tummy tuck?
Seromas are a buildup of fluids after an abdominoplasty. The best treatment for seroma is prevention. Strategies include good surgical technique, drains as indicated, compression garments, and close surgical follow-up. We do everything we can to prevent fluid buildup.
