Body Lift Fort Worth
If changes in weight or other circumstances have caused your body to lose definition, a body lift performed by Dr. Vishnu Rumalla at his practice serving Keller, Southlake, and Fort Worth, Texas can help you achieve the youthful, fit-looking frame you desire.
The effects of obesity on health and quality of life have been well documented. Over the past decade, we have been seeing a large number of patients at my practice looking to improve their shape and form after massive weight loss. One of the most commonly performed procedures at our Keller practice is a lower body lift. A lower body lift is designed to circumferentially address the acquired laxity and skin associated with massive weight loss. It includes an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), outer thigh lift and buttock lift. A body lift is very powerful at reestablishing the core. In our practice, a lower body lift is often performed in combination with breast enhancement procedures. The incision for a body lift is placed very low on the abdomen and continues onto the upper portion of the buttocks, just at the top of the crease. It usually is well hidden even in many bikinis.
In our practice, a body lift is performed in our Southlake surgery center or at an outpatient hospital. Dr. Rumalla requires all patients that have a body lift to stay overnight and when multiple procedures are done, he may recommend an additional night of recovery. A body lift is performed under general anesthesia and the procedure typically takes four hours to complete. Patients are usually able to return to a desk job within 10 days while those with more strenuous work are best served taking off two weeks or more. Additionally, patients will not be able to perform heavy lifting for 4-6 weeks. Though much of the results of a body lift can be appreciated within the first week, many of the scars and swelling can take months to a year to fully resolve.
